What is SMOLUUC?

The main purpose of the group, Senior Ministers of Large UU Churches (SMOLUUC), is to support the work of Senior Ministers of Large Churches.  (see Covenant and membership criteria.)

Senior or lead minister is defined as the minister who is described in their letter of agreement as senior, CEO, lead or other such language that describes his/her authority.  Usually this is that individual on the staff who is (a) recognized as senior or lead minister and (b) who commands the highest salary on the church staff.

Co-ministers are invited if their salaries are co-equal and are recognized in their congregations as senior.

SMOLUUC offers a rich support program and the Unitarian Universalist Association has on staff, a Director for Large Congregations.

Learn about our programs, our history and covenant, and peruse the online resources and libraries at your leisure.
